Meet Our 2026 Midwest Frontline Fund Grantees

We are thrilled to introduce you to our 2026 Midwest Frontline Fund grantee lineup!

The Midwest Frontline Fund provides general operating grants to grassroots and frontline environmental justice organizations throughout the Midwest.

Since 2016, MWEJN has supported over 100 environmental justice organizations totaling $8 million in grants through this fund.

The Midwest Frontline Fund is a core part of our participatory grantmaking process at the Midwest Environmental Justice Network—led by and accountable to environmental justice communities.

Midwest Frontline Fund grantees become part of our Midwest Environmental Justice Network, which provides opportunities for shared learning, relationship building, and capacity-building for partner organizations across different issue areas and communities, strengthening the connective tissue of the environmental justice movement across the Midwest.

““We’re holding the tensions of the moment – unprecedented attacks on our communities, the retraction of hard won federal funding, and the accelerating climate crisis that have impacted people across the Midwest. And yet this group of organizations represents a powerful, strategic, and community-accountable front holding the line each and every day to build a more just and beautiful world.””
— Eartha Borer-Bell, MWEJN Co-Executive Director

We also want to give a special thanks to all the members of our Midwest Frontline Fund Advisory Circle. Each year, our Midwest Frontline Fund Advisory Circle helps shape grant-making priorities and eligibility, and advises on how resources should reach frontline communities.

Many thanks to
